How to explain it to your child
Multiply and divide before you add and subtract.
- Find the × or ÷ and work it out first. — 4 × 6 + 4: first 4 × 6 = 24
- Then add or subtract. — 24 + 4 = 28
Example: 4 × 6 + 4 = 28, not 40.
Every sheet has a QR code: if your child gets stuck, they scan it and get this explanation step by step — without giving the answer away.
