How to explain it to your child
Line up the decimal points, then add as usual.
- Write the numbers underneath each other — decimal point exactly under decimal point. — 1.30 + 2.45
- Add from the right as usual. — 0+5=5; 3+4=7; 1+2=3
- Put the decimal point in the answer straight below the others. — 3.75
Example: 1.30 + 2.45 = 3.75 (points lined up).
Every sheet has a QR code: if your child gets stuck, they scan it and get this explanation step by step — without giving the answer away.
