How to explain it to your child
Split the number into chunks you can divide easily.
- Split the number into a friendly tens chunk and the rest. — 84 = 70 + 14
- Divide both chunks. — 70 ÷ 7 = 10; 14 ÷ 7 = 2
- Add the results. — 10 + 2 = 12
Example: 84 ÷ 7: 70 ÷ 7 = 10; 14 ÷ 7 = 2; makes 12.
Every sheet has a QR code: if your child gets stuck, they scan it and get this explanation step by step — without giving the answer away.
