How to explain it to your child
A quarter hour is 15 minutes, half an hour 30, a full hour 60.
- Count from the start time to the next full hour. — 3:30 → 4:00 = 30 min
- Add the minutes after the full hour. — 4:00 → 4:15 = 15 min
- Add the two parts. — 30 + 15 = 45
Example: From 3:30 to 4:15 is 45 minutes.
