How to explain it to your child
Split into two easy even parts, halve each, add them.
- Split the number into parts that are easy to halve. — 56 = 40 + 16
- Halve each part. — 40 → 20, 16 → 8
- Add the halves. — 20 + 8 = 28
Example: Half of 56: half of 40 is 20, half of 16 is 8 — 28.
Every sheet has a QR code: if your child gets stuck, they scan it and get this explanation step by step — without giving the answer away.
