How to explain it to your child
Split into tens and ones; add each column.
- Split both numbers into tens and ones. — 27 + 38 = (20 + 7) + (30 + 8)
- Add the tens. — 20 + 30 = 50
- Add the ones. — 7 + 8 = 15
- Put them back together. — 50 + 15 = 65
Example: 27 + 38: 20+30=50; 7+8=15; 50+15 = 65.
Every sheet has a QR code: if your child gets stuck, they scan it and get this explanation step by step — without giving the answer away.
