How to explain it to your child
Add the big amounts first; 1 whole unit is 100 cents.
- Add the biggest amounts first, then the small ones. — 50 + 2 + 1 = 53
- To change to cents: whole units × 100, plus the cents. — 1.45 → 100 + 45 = 145 cents
Example: 50 + 2 + 1 = 53; 1.45 = 145 cents.
Every sheet has a QR code: if your child gets stuck, they scan it and get this explanation step by step — without giving the answer away.
