How to explain it to your child
Count on with your fingers.
- Look at the first number — that's already in your head. — 8
- Count the second number on your fingers, one at a time. — 8 + 2 → '9, 10'
- Where you land is the answer.
Example: 8 + 2 — start at 8, count 2 more: 9, 10. Answer: 10.
Every sheet has a QR code: if your child gets stuck, they scan it and get this explanation step by step — without giving the answer away.
